Brussels, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Malmö, all connected by one overnight train. It sounds like a fantasy route dreamed up by a very well travelled friend, but European Sleeper, the Dutch-Belgian night train operator, confirmed this week that it is real, in partnership with German rail company RDC. The service will thread together the Benelux, Denmark and southern Sweden in a single overnight journey, marking European Sleeper's first push into Scandinavia since the company launched in 2023.

## On Board

The stops currently listed include Brussels, Antwerp, Rotterdam, The Hague and Amsterdam on the western leg, continuing on to Copenhagen before terminating in Malmö, just across the Öresund Bridge from the Danish capital. Departures from both Brussels and Malmö are planned for around 7pm local time, three times a week, with arrival at the other end at approximately 10am the following morning, the kind of overnight timing that turns a travel day into a full night's sleep instead. Chris Engelsman, European Sleeper's co-founder, called Scandinavia a natural next step for a network that has grown quickly since its first Brussels to Berlin service. From Copenhagen and Malmö, cities including Stockholm and Oslo become reachable with just one further change.
