Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley joined Royalton Hotels & Resorts executives and tourism leaders in Holetown, St. James, on 14 July 2026 to officially open [Royalton Vessence Barbados, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort](https://www.royaltonresorts.com/press/royalton-vessence-barbados-marks-official-ribbon-cutting-ceremony-with-barbados-prime-minister), marking both the brand's first foothold in Barbados and the global debut of the Royalton Vessence concept. A commemorative plaque was unveiled at the resort's entrance as steel pan and saxophone performances opened the ceremony.

The 220-suite property sits on Barbados' Platinum Coast, the stretch of St. James coastline long associated with the island's most established luxury tourism. It is the first adults-oriented all-inclusive on that strip to carry the Autograph Collection flag, and it arrives under a concept Royalton describes as built around creativity, culture, and genuine connection to its location rather than the generic all-inclusive blueprint.

The opening adds to a Royalton portfolio that now covers eight Caribbean destinations across 24 resorts and eight distinct brands. For Barbados, it represents a continuation of inward tourism investment that Mia has publicly championed as central to the island's economic strategy.
