STARLUX Airlines has handed its cabin safety briefing to a chrome robot. The Taiwanese carrier's new safety film runs five minutes, was rendered entirely in 3D CGI and took nearly two years to make. Its lead character is Sexy Robot, the figure the Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama has been painting since 1983, who appears above a blue sky and then turns into a STARLUX cabin crew member.

The film is the cabin half of AIRSORAYAMA, a project the airline announced earlier this year that also covers two Airbus A350-1000 aircraft in Sorayama's metallic finish. The first, AIRSORAYAMA SILVER, entered service on 12 July and flies to [Tokyo](https://richtravelmagazine.com/article/sea-day-japan-the-history-behind-umi-no-hi) and Phoenix, with Prague to follow when that route opens. Seats and onboard equipment were designed to match.

STARLUX serves 32 destinations across the US, Japan, South Korea, Macau, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore, and carries Skytrax five star status. Its five US destinations are Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Ontario in California, and Phoenix.
